Oh, cool, you read Worm. Likewise, I never know whether to recommend it to people or not. I think it's really good, but it is kind of too long, and perhaps not gratuitously grim, but much more grim than I usually like.

I almost want to read the story I thought it was going to be from the first page, about the characters as super heroes in high school, before becoming about the fate of the world.

But there's so much it does do well, interesting powers, interesting characters, interesting mysteries, showing Taylor learning to use her powers effectively, making genuinely disturbing villains, making characters you empathise with as you like or dislike them.

It's an interesting comparison to GoT. I did read all of that and that didn't feel THAT long, but being broken into books released decades apart I never read them all back to back, whereas once I start reading worm I keep reading "just one more chapter" for months...
