Other interesting features of Irish that I can think of: distinction between transient/permanent kinds of "to be" (irregular "bí"/"tá"/etc. vs. the utterly weird copula "is" which is not actually a verb but a strange kind of particle; compare "estar" vs. "ser" in Spanish). Also, the verbs corresponding to "bring" and "take" are determined by whether there's a transfer of possession rather than by the direction of the object's travel as in British English, and this usage has bled over into how those English verbs are typically used in Ireland.
