Apr. 16th, 2003 11:33 pmWent to see Makb3th (yes, it is spelled that way) with
sphyg, Pete,
sys64738, and Sian. It was a theatre production of Macbeth set on a Sealand-ish data haven in the North Sea, with Macbeth as the sysadmin and Lady Macbeth as the lawyer, including significant amounts of the plot being delivered via AAlib video feeds, text messages to people's mobile phones with random Shakespeare quotes and e-mails between the characters, and a concluding fight between Macduff with a crowbar and Macbeth with a keyboard. My brain hurts now, but it was great fun.
In other news, I had some Talisker (Scotch whisky, for the uninitiated) at the pub, and despite my instinctive bias towards Irish whiskey it was very very nice indeed. The Bluffer's Guide to Whisky says that it's like swallowing a Mahler symphony; I think it's like having your throat massaged with honey.
