I went along tonight to audition for the charity reading of the Lord of the Rings radio play that the Cambridge Tolkien Society is planning to do in a few months' time. It was quite fun; I narrated briefly, then read Aragorn against a really quite convincing Eowyn (whose name I don't know). With a few exceptions like Gollum they were more interested in hearing voices than particular characters, but I think I did OK. Of the others who were there, I found noteworthy [livejournal.com profile] emperor's and Richard's respective Gollums, somebody-whose-name-I-can't-remember's Galadriel, Matthew Reid's Denethor, and Sharmaine's Grima Wormtongue.
