That was amusing! I love the way he debunked the fangirl Japanese type stuff used in martial arts clubs!

Admittedly I am a fan of formality and a bit of mumbo jumbo in martial arts simply because so many students come in with something to prove and unless you are really strict about the discipline they can get carried away (the number of times I have had to remind Mr 6 foot 4 beefy bloke that I am Miss 5 foot 2 puny gal and if he treats me like I am his size I WILL get broken...).

And I think with Aikido at least (the martial art I settled on in the end as it suited me best), there is an element of 'fulfillment' or whatever you wish to call it since it takes away your need to prove you are better than other people and teaches you that when you get overexcited and rush, your technique quality goes to pot! But nothing like the Batman Begins movie!

But I did like the site overall. It stripped away a lot of the pretensions and also highlighted some of my own pet peeves about martial arts teaching! :D
