Thanks (for this and for the rec)! I did wonder whether you'd posted a review of it, but had forgotten about DW's journal-search function or I might have found it. I've seen mixed reviews of Skeleton in Waiting, but might pick it up on the strength of rysmiel's rec in reply to your review.
You may be right about standards moving on. I think, to try to pin it down a little further while still avoiding spoilers, that part of what bothered me about that arc was the discrepancy between the generally high moral character of the other person in question and their questionable behaviour towards Kinunu.
