It's been a while since I got round to writing anything.

I had a fun time last weekend up in Scotland, staying with friends (hi lalajia and orkney_rob!) and visiting distilleries. Well, distillery, anyway (Aberfeldy), as it's a bit tricky to get to any of the really good ones from Stirling. It was good to visit, though - it'd been far too long.

I got back on Monday, just in time to start my new job at nCipher on Tuesday. As ewx mentioned, the first couple of days were mostly taken up with induction presentations, after which I started trying to climb the rather steep learning curve. I'm still somewhat terrified by the build system, but having played around with the hardware a little it's beginning to make more sense. Maybe next week I'll be far enough along to be able to do something productive. :) For a change I'm kind of looking forward to Monday; it's great to not be cynical and jaded about work for a while.

Saturday was relaxation, followed by lark_ascending, crazyscot, and Mike-no-LJ's housewarming barbecue and party, which was fantastic, and only about half-populated by the usual SGO crowd. And it had marshmallows, and chocolate fondue courtesy of beckyc, and mmm. We need to throw more parties here.

Today has been recovering, feeling a bit stiff, and watching TV, not unlike a lot of Sundays. :) Time for some bacon on toast as a pick-me-up, I think.

But Glegoyne is only a short drive, to the South West of Stirling!
