I got to the Debian conference on Saturday evening, so I've pretty much been hacking most of the time from Sunday to today. There are a couple of people here in particular who've been very helpful in thrashing out a design for the big project I'm working on this week - and it'd have taken us ages to do that if we hadn't been in the same room - so for the most part I've been making great progress, which is very satisfying. I'm being kept pretty busy with various people wanting to talk to me about side projects as well.
Oslo is hot. Really, really hot. It's 60 degrees north so I'd been kind of expecting snow and ice and fun stuff like that, but I don't think I've actually seen a cloud for the last four days; and I haven't been inside all the time, despite what you're thinking. :-) I've also got a nasty cold which has got up into my sinuses and hurts, so generally I've not been very comfortable, but hey. Norway's also extremely expensive, but we went to the pub for a couple of pints yesterday evening anyway ... (meeting up with Eddy Welbourne who used to work with me for Zeus and is now working for Opera).
Notwithstanding respiratory doom, anyway, I'm having a good time, although a week feels like quite a long time away at the moment so I'm kind of looking forward to getting back home as well. Still, another couple of days and the masses will turn up for the conference proper, so I doubt I'll have time to think for a while. :-)
